about

why this website?

I first began writing online journals in 1994. In 2001, I found xanga.com and began a blog. At first, my writings were intermittent. I wasn’t sure about people reading what I had to write. Then I was worried about people I knew reading what I was writing. I eventually created two other private blogs to write about the more private sides of myself in like-minded communities or for one other person. What I found is that dividing myself up and writing only to please others doesn’t please me. It does, however, give me a lot of practice in my favorite art of writing.

I may talk about certain things that will offend others. If you are offended, I suggest that you leave my website.

how was this site created?

I designed the look of the site using a provided Wordpress template. I use Macromedia Dreamweaver for editing. I used to do hand-coding for all of my webpages but I found the ease of Dreamweaver to be a huge time saver. I still venture into coding when I want something to be very precise. After doing all of that work, WordPress came out with their “pages” and I moved everything into the pages so things would look as cohesive as possible. The webblog is powered by WordPress. The photoblog is powered by PixelPost. The gallery is hosted by Flickr. My website is hosted by the wonderful people at Lunarpages.

can I quote your words or use your photographs?

All content (including text, photographs, graphics, audio files, or any other original works) on these webpages (www.girl-inchoate.com and all pages within the domain and under the name life inchoate or girl inchoate), unless otherwise noted, is copyrighted.

about comments

Comment as truthfully as you want. Let me know if you found my words or images to be brilliant, silly, or mundane. I like honesty. Don’t, however, expect me to comment in return. I don’t want you commenting on my blogs to get comments back from me. I comment when I have the time and when I am moved to do so — not just to comment. I appreciate the comments that come in — good or bad — because you have made the effort to give me thoughtful feedback.

why did you delete my comment?

I reserve the right to delete off-topic, mean, defamatory, or rude comments that do not contribute to the particular discussion and/or post. All comments are the sole property of the writer. girl-inchoate.com assumes no liability or responsibility for comments made by anyone other than the owner of this site.
